The Perfect Manicure

First off I'd like to say, I am addicted to painting my nails. I spend my Sundays searching for that perfect design to carry me throughout the rest of the week. Your nails are supposed to be something fun and upbeat or cute and classy. It's always fun to invent or try new things in any aspect of life, including the little things like painting your nails. I have painted my nails has been angry birds. Here is a brief tutorial on how to get angry bird nails.

1. Firstly, only my ring finger has an angry bird on it. It would be too time consuming to do one on every finger and I think this is cuter anyway.

2. Make sure you have absolutely no nail polish on your fingers. Remove the extra polish with nail polish remover if you do.

3. Start by painting a clear, base coat on all your fingers. This will strengthen and even out your nails. Wait at least 7 minutes for it to dry.

4. We are going to save the angry birds for last, so for this step do not include your ring finger. We are going to start with red French tips. To get a more accurate and clean line, follow the 'white' part of your nails. Paint each tip red. If you mess up wait until it dries, then take a q-tip, put nail polish over it and carefully take of the extra nail polish. Wait for nails to dry before moving on to the next step.

5. After that's complete, top the nails with an extra clear coat.

6. Now we are going to move on to the ring finger. To start paint on a rounded red half oval shape, onto your nails, starting about half way up your nail and coming completely down. Then paint on to short diagonal red lines coming out of the rounded top of the bird. Wait about ten minutes for it to dry.

7. We are now going to use white to create the stomach and eyes for the angry birds. A little more then half way down the red paint a half circle. Just slightly above the stomach paint to white dots. Leave room on top for the eyebrows. Wait around 10 minutes for it to dry.

8. Paint a triangle pointing down in orange on the stomach: make it small and in between where the eyes are. You may use a toothpick for this.

9. I don't own black nail polish, so I used acrylic paint and the smallest brush I own. With black nail polish/ paint, paint two mini dots in the whites of the eyes, along with two eyebrows starting off higher up and then going downwards towards the middle of the birds face. Wait about 15 time for it to dry.

10. Put on a clear coat on top to make it last longer. This may make some of the stomach slightly pink. Don't panic! After it dries completely touch the stomach up with a little bit of white.


And now You have very fun, upbeat nails to wow your friends with and put a smile on your face.
